6 European Financed PhD in Organic Chemistry (3 years)

within the MSCA-Doctoral Network


“Photocatalytic Industrial Applications"

Within a European program “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network - Industrial Doctorate”, bringing together academic and industrial laboratories, the consortium: Photocatalytic Industrial Applications (PIA), (Grant Agreement Nr. 101168878), which we belong to, is offering 6 funded PhD opportunities.

"The PIA doctoral programme will train 6 Doctoral Candidates (DCs) in the field of photocatalysis applied to the pharmaceutical industry. PhD trainers in pharmaceutically applied photochemistry will be in high demand by industry in the coming years considering that one of the pillars of the European Union is the use of renewable energy sources for the production of chemicals. To achieve this objective, the PIA consortium combines the drug discovery research experience of three pharmaceutical European companies (Sanofi-Aventis, SEQENS and Synthelia Organics) with the outstanding research in the field of photocatalysis of three academic groups (FRONCAT, Géraldine Masson and Olga García-Mancheño).

Note: Each Doctoral Candidate will be hired 18 months by an academic institution followed by 18 months by an industrial beneficiary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and Master in Organic Chemistry.

  • Comply with the mobility rule. You must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.

  • Comply with the Doctoral Candidate definition: at the time of recruitment by the hosting institution, you must be in the first four years (or full‐time equivalent research experience) of your research career and not been awarded a doctoral degree.

The offer:

 

Offer consists of temporary contract for the duration of 3 years. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks Programme offers highly competitive and attractive 3-year salary and working conditions. Each fellowship includes the following:

  • Monthly living allowance:

    • Spain 3,104.20 €

    • France 3,957.60 €

    • Germany 3,342.20 €

 

  • Monthly mobility allowance: 600 €/month.

  • Monthly family allowance, if applicable and depending on the family situation: 495 €/month.
