Riccardo Grigolato

1st year PhD student

Riccardo Grigolato obtained his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Padua in 2020, followed by a Master’s degree in Synthetic Methodologies and Bio-Organic Chemistry from the University of Bologna. His academic path provided a strong foundation in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, fostering a growing interest in sustainable and innovative research approaches. He was awarded a research fellowship in the Tolomelli-Cabri Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Walter Cabri, where he focused on the development of electrochemical fluorination methodologies and the study of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling mechanisms. These experiences inspired him to pursue further studies in photochemistry, a field that shares many aspects with electrochemistry. He joined the team in 2025 as a PhD candidate focusing on photochemical Truce–Smiles rearrangements.
Beyond the laboratory, he enjoys cooking and analog photography.
