1st Year graduate student - CIFRE, ICSN & Seqens

Jinye YU obtained his B.Sc. in Polymer Science at East China University of Science and Technology (Shanghai, China) in 2020 and then pursued a Diplôme d'Ingénieur at CPE Lyon alongside an M.Sc. in Organic Synthesis at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Lyon, France).

During his studies, Jinye completed a 6-month internship at Nuvisan GmbH (Berlin, Germany, Dr. Jelena Konstantinović), working on a kinase inhibitor project for anticancer drug development. He then conducted a 6-month research project at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (Saarbrücken, Germany, Prof. Anna K. H. Hirsch), focusing on the design and synthesis of anti-infective drugs. He completed his master thesis at ESPCI Paris (Paris, France, Dr. Amandine Guérinot), where he worked on the development of new organic methodologies for the synthesis of azetidines.

Jinye joined the lab in January 2025 for his Ph.D., focusing on catalytic strategies for the synthesis and functionalization of heterocycles with pharmaceutical applications.

Outside the lab, Jinye enjoys watching sports games, traveling and exploring new technologies.
