Post doctoral fellow - ICSN & Seqens

Antoine Versini is attracted by research for a long time and especially for the development of methodologies and syntheses of molecules with therapeutic interests. He studied at the engineering school ESPCI Paris where he obtained his diploma in 2017 focusing mainly on chemistry and biology. He carried out his PhD thesis at Institut Curie with Dr. Raphaël Rodriguez exploring the therapeutic potential of small molecules targeting metals (Iron and Copper) in cancer cells. In 2021 he moved for a postdoctoral position in the team of Prof. Karl Gademann at the university of Zurich. There, he worked on the total synthesis of the natural product Darobactin A. After two years, he came back to France in the CiTCoM lab to work with Prof. Philippe Belmont at Université Paris Cité. He worked on the use of Gold(III) complexes to catalyze domino cyclofunctionalizations of ethynylarylaldehydes to access biological relevant molecular scaffolds. Antoine joined the group in February 2025 as a post-doctoral fellow to collaborate with Seqens on the synthesis of biologically active molecules.

Outside of the lab Antoine likes playing board games, practicing Handball, backing pastery and playing the violin.
