Hemender Chand
Post-doctoral fellow
Hemender CHAND studied chemistry at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, India), where he completed his Ph. D. in 2016 under the guidance of Dr. Asish K. Bhattacharya. His research work comprised diverse areas of natural products chemistry, synthesis of polyhydroxylated alkaloids and tetrahydropyrans using carbohydrate scaffolds and chemical transformations of abundant natural products. After a while, he continued his research work as a Senior Project Fellow at CSIR-NCL. Then, for 6 months, he worked at Clean Science and Technology Pvt. Ltd. (industrial company, Pune, India) as a research scientist, supervising a group of 6 Master’s in Science students. He then joined the research group of Prof. Leonid Voskressensky and Dr. Nikita Golantsov at RUDN University (Moscow, Russian Federation) for 2 years as a Postdoc in 2019, to work on the development of new synthetic methodologies. He then moved to France for another Postdoctoral research at University of Limoges in the group of Prof. Pierre AUDEBERT & Dr. Fabrice ROSSIGNOL, until October 2023, to work on the synthesis of heptazines for photocatalytic applications. Since November 2023 he is working as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the research group of Dr. Géraldine Masson. His research work is focused on the total synthesis of bioactive macromolecules and also asymmetric organocatalytic transformations.
