Christopher Cox
1st Year graduate student
Christopher Cox obtained his B.Sc as well as his M.Sc degrees from the University of Cambridge in 2024. During this time, he completed an academic internship at the Diamond Light Source (UK) on X-ray guided medicinal chemistry, as well as a second internship at Onyx Scientific (UK), where he improved a synthetic route towards an anti-cancer target for large-scale production.
From 2023 to 2024, he did a research project with Pr. Robert Phipps at Cambridge, which involved developing rhodium-based catalysts for hydrogen-bond-directed asymmetric C(sp3)-H amination.
Christopher joined the group in October 2024 as a first-year Ph.D student under the supervision of Dr. Géraldine Masson, where he is currently researching enantioselective photoredox catalysis to develop sustainable chemical processes.
Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking, mountain climbing and botany.
