Axel Goutier

2nd year master student
Axel Goutier obtained his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Paris-Saclay University in 2024, followed by a Master’s degree in organic chemistry from the same university, which he is currently pursuing. His academic path has provided a strong foundation in organic synthesis and green chemistry, fostering a growing interest in sustainable and innovative research approaches.
He completed his first internship in electrochemistry in the MIM2 team at the Institut de Recherche de Chimie de Paris in 2023, where he optimized the manufacturing of battery electrodes. He then completed a second internship in electrochemistry in the Masson group in 2025, where he optimized the synthesis of a derivative of a natural product, martinelline.
He is now completing his M2 internship in photochemistry in the Masson group, where he is studying the scope of an enantioselective Truce–Smiles rearrangement.
Beyond the laboratory, he enjoys judo and music.
